What's changed in Palworld 1.0

If you last played in early access, the Paldeck you remember is less than half the size it is now. PalDeck's own data went from 137 Pals (January 2024) to 288 in Palworld 1.0. Here's what that means for collecting, base building and breeding, measured straight from the data.

151 more Pals

Between the first early-access release and 1.0, Palworld added 151 Pals: brand-new species from the island updates, plus a lot of new elemental variants of existing Pals. Dark Pals got the biggest boost, with 43 new entries, followed by Water (31) and Ground (28).

The Paldeck was renumbered

To fit the new Pals in, 1.0 reshuffled the Paldeck: 131 of the original 137 Pals now have a different number. Lamball is still No. 001, but many familiar Pals moved a long way:

PalEarly accessPalworld 1.0
PenkingNo. 011No. 018
MossandaNo. 033No. 102
AnubisNo. 100No. 139
GrizzboltNo. 103No. 185
FrostallionNo. 110No. 200
JetragonNo. 111No. 202

That's also why PalDeck's Pal pages now use names in their address (/pals/anubis) instead of numbers. Old links still work and send you to the right Pal.

Work suitability now goes up to level 8

In early access, the best workers topped out at level 4. In 1.0 the scale goes up to level 8, and many existing Pals were bumped up along the way. These Pals gained the most total work levels:

Lyleen Noct+10
Elizabee+10
Cryolinx+9

If you planned your base around early-access numbers, it's worth checking the best workers for each job again, since the rankings have moved.

Breeding is built on special combos

The breeding-power formula still exists, but 1.0 relies on it far less. In early access only a couple of dozen parent pairs had a fixed result. PalDeck now tracks 1,904 special combos, and only 149 Pals can hatch from the averaging formula at all. Everything else, including every elemental variant, every legendary and even some everyday Pals, comes only from its specific parent pairs. Two combos even depend on which parent is male.

In practice, this makes the old rule of thumb ("breed anything near the right power") unreliable. Look up the target Pal's exact parents instead: every Pal page has them on its Breeding tab, and the breeding calculator plans the whole chain for you. The breeding guide explains the new rules in detail.
