FAQ
Where is PalWorldSettings.ini?
On Windows: steamapps\common\PalServer\Pal\Saved\Config\WindowsServer\PalWorldSettings.ini. On Linux: steamapps/common/PalServer/Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini. The folder is created the first time the server starts.
Why don't my changes do anything?
Make sure you edited PalWorldSettings.ini in the Saved/Config folder, not DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini in the server root. Editing the default file has no effect. Stop the server before replacing the file and start it again afterwards.
The file is empty. Is that normal?
Yes. A fresh server often creates an empty PalWorldSettings.ini. Paste the whole output of this tool into it, including the [/Script/Pal.PalGameWorldSettings] line.
Do I need RCON or the REST API?
Only if you want to manage the server remotely or with tools. Both log in with the admin password, so set one before turning them on, and don't open their ports to the internet unless you need to.
What happens to settings this tool doesn't list?
They're kept. When you import a file, any setting the tool doesn't recognise (for example one added in a newer patch) is written back exactly as it was.
Setting names and the newer 1.0 options follow Pocketpair's official server guide.
